Paediatric Intensive Care ST7

I am a PICM trainee, currently on a post-CCT fellowship in Australia having completed by paediatric intensive care grid training in Wessex. I moved to Wessex for grid training, having lived in the Midlands for a while before that.
I first got into the idea of mentoring during a medical education degree, and though it would be great to set up a deanery-wide mentoring scheme. Luckily, Wessex seems to be full of enthusiastic trainees, so we've managed to get a great team together!
Outside of work, I'm hoping to be Sudan's first cycling olympian, but my love of baking and lack of cycling talent make this seem an unlikely dream...

Paediatrics ST7

I am an St7 general paediatric trainee. I have been supported throughout my paediatric training by some brilliant seniors, but have often thought that a formal mentoring programme would be really useful for junior trainees. I am therefore really excited to be part of the Wessex Mentoring programme and am looking forward to becoming a mentor as well as helping to establish a sustainable scheme.
Aside from paediatrics I love hanging out with my family and doing CrossFit.

Paediatrics ST4

I am currently a full time ST4 trainee in Portsmouth Neonates. I am currently not sure what I want to do when I grow up! Current plans involve a CCT in general paediatrics, although I would love to create roles that essentially mean being a paediatric GP. Work/life balance is important to me...any ideas greatly appreciated!
I have some experience of mentoring  and generally just enjoy supporting people, even if its just for a good old moan over coffee (and cake!).
Outside of work I enjoy cooking (and eating!), country walks and going on holidays.

Paediatrics ST4

I am an ST5 trainee who lived all over the place for my parents jobs pre university then moved from the Midlands for FY1 + 2 near the sea and love it so i've stayed! My current plans are for PICU to become my work home and am taking a year out of training to investigate this.
Outside of work I love running, gin consumption and creative stuff like furniture up-cycling.
I'm really excited about the Wessex Mentoring and think together we can make a sustainable programme to keep Wessex paeds trainees supported for a long time to come!

Consultant

I am a general paediatric consultant, with a special interest in diabetes and endocrinology. I recently completed my general paediatric training in Wessex, having moved here in F1 to live by the seaside, and now have a permanent grown up consultant job in Portsmouth. Outside of work I love being outdoors, and spend a lot of time running, cycling, and walking. I have been lucky enough to have informal mentorship from some fantastic senior colleagues throughout my training, which I've really valued, and therefore am excited to be involved in Wessex Mentors.
